Submit your films!

Submission Deadline:  March 11, 2026

Elibility:

Students: Filmmakers who made the film must be an undergraduate student and be submitted by an undergraduate student in university.


Participation: Anyone of any ethnicity can submit films but it must include either a filmmaker who worked on the film who was asian or the content of the film is about asian culture in some way or form.

Submission: Please submit using undergraduate institution email.

Technical Requirements

 Films must be submitted in accepted formats:

  • Must meet be between 4 to 15 minutes long.

  • Audio and video must be of screenable quality (no major glitches, inaudible audio, etc.). 1920 x 1080 is recommended!

  • Submissions must include English subtitles if the primary language is not English.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Films must be submitted to the appropriate category.

  • Films must be submitted by the deadline.

By submitting, the filmmaker grants permission for:

  • The film to be screened at the festival

  • Promotional use of clips, posters, or stills

Judging & Awards

All decisions by the festival jury are final. Films may be disqualified for rule violations.

Awards:

Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Acting, Best Sound Design, Best Picture, Best Documentary, Best Production Design

Description: Please provide under 'Brief Synopsis' information, when you submit your film, a brief sentence on how this fulfills our requirements for submission. Ex: (I made this film during my freshman/sophomore/junior/senior year, as an undergraduate student at the institution, [insert institution name]).

 

Completion: Films must have been completed within the last 3 years.

Content Guidelines

1. No explicit or graphic violence. Stylized or implied violence may be acceptable depending on the festival, but extreme gore is generally not allowed.

2. No full nudity or explicit sexual content. Romantic scenes are usually fine, but anything pornographic or graphic is prohibited.
3. No hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory content.
4. No dangerous or illegal acts depicted in a way that promotes harm (e.g., self-harm tutorials, uncontextualized drug use, etc.).

Originality & Rights

 All submissions must be the filmmaker’s original work.

Filmmakers must have rights/permissions for:

1. Music

2. Footage
3. Images
4. Any copyrighted materials

(Any copyrighted content used without permission will automatically disqualify the submission.)

The festival reserves the right to reject films for unprofessional behavior, harassment, or inappropriate communication during the submission process.
